Project Sunkalp | Camp KVT-MDTKA-016 | 12.09.2026
Awareness is the first step towards prevention, early detection, and better health.
As part of Project Sunkalp, a Cancer Awareness Talk was conducted at Devathur Village, Madurantakam, Chengalpattu District, reaching 50 community members with important information about cancer screening and early detection.
The session was led by Mrs. C. Shanthi and covered key topics including:
• iBreast Examination
• Pap Smear
• Oral Examination
• Skin Cancer Awareness
The session focused on helping participants understand the importance of regular screening, recognising possible warning signs, and seeking timely medical attention when needed.
Cancer awareness is not just about knowing the disease—it is about encouraging people to take action. Understanding available screening methods and knowing when to consult a healthcare professional can help individuals make informed decisions about their health.
For communities in rural areas, awareness sessions play an important role in addressing gaps in health knowledge and encouraging people to make preventive healthcare a part of everyday life.
Through Project Sunkalp, Kalpavriksham Trust continues to bring cancer awareness closer to communities across Madurantakam, encouraging individuals and families to prioritise prevention and early detection.
Because awareness can inspire action, and early action can make a difference.
